A permanent exhibition of panels presents the history of the site, and its technical characteristics. Come sit in the cabin of the Funicular and go back in time!
The funicular, listed as a Historic Monument, transported travelers between the bottom and the top of Bregille from 1912 to 1987. It is intimately linked to the history of Besançon hydrotherapy.

Funiculaire de Bregille

The funicular railway of Beauregard-Bregille, recently registered on Historic monuments (the low station and the car was restored in 2007), is a funicular railway and a tramline imagined from 1899 by the industrialist bisontin Émile inhabitant of Picardy. The line was intended(designed) to transport the persons having hydrotherapy of the Baths of Mouillère on the heights of the from the Franche-Comté capital. Inaugurated in 1912, the line connected(bound) the bottom(stocking) and the top of the hill of Bregille and was fast adopted(accepted) by the inhabitants of the tray(plateau) to go(surrender) in town. With ups and downs, the line will work until 1987\.
