Built in the XVIIth century by Claude de Thiard de Bissy on the location of an old(former) manorial strong house, the Castle of Pierre-de-Bresse and its park stay in the hands of this family until the XIXth century. The Castle is acquired in 1956 by the General Council of Saône-et-Loire. Since 1983, all the buildings(ships) make the object of an important working programme. The inside of the Castle of Pierre-de-Bresse, outsides, staves(moats), railing(bar) of entrance(entry) and prospect(perspective) going of this railing(bar) to the main building are listed(classified) Historic monuments. The public discovers to it from now on permanent exhibitions(exposures) evoking, illustrating and understandable natural circles, history(story), aspects of traditional life and current economic and social situations of Burgundian Bresse. Honouring his(her,its) "case", two exhibition halls are devoted to " the life of luxury " and present places such as they were at the time of the famous family Thiard. The different aspects of the bressan natural environment are presented (geology, watercourse, forest, cultures). A room devoted to history(story) explains the essential elements of the territory of Bresse. Arts and popular traditions (suits(costumes), potteries, music) as well as emblematic bressanes activities (mulching of chairs, chicken farm(farming), tile factory, etc...) are evoked by means of many shop windows(showcases) and reconstructions. A room is devoted to the furniture. The Ecomuseum possesses diverse types of furniture, that they belong in the middle rural traditional modest or to a more sought(studied) register. The collection Noirot of naturalized animals is presented in one of the tours(ballots) of the castle where a multimedia border allows to listen to different singings(songs) of birds. Bressane architecture is tackled(approached) on the second floor of the castle. Other spaces are reserved for media(audiovisual) projections, for temporary exhibitions(exposures), in the centre of documentation and of research(search), for shop, for tearoom and for conferences. Every year, the Ecomuseum of Burgundian Bresse receives a programme planning(programming) rich in events and in events: musical season, conferences, projections of documentary films
