Guided tour «Bringing the local heritage to life»
After a description of the historical heritage elements belonging to the church of Bessey-en-Chaume, the group will go down to the site of the «Fontaine de Trie», where the wash-house whose restoration is completed is located. Based on this experience and the restorations carried out for thirty years in other buildings of the surrounding area (washhouses and chapel of Grandmont, templar church of Echarnant, oratory of Presles in Lusigny), the volunteer restorer Jérôme Turquet will explain his motivation, the conditions of its work, the complexity of the sites in their geological, historical, archaeological, technical dimensions, the relationship to the local population, and the problems posed by the maintenance of these buildings and the responsibility not only of the local authorities, but especially the inhabitants themselves. He will thus prepare the debate that will take place the next day at the church of Lusigny-sur-Ouche.
