In 1306, Girard de La Palud began the construction of the castle. In its primitive form, it consisted of a quadrangular enclosure flanked by four corner towers and a main building. A drawbridge allowed access, a pond surrounding the castle. At the end of the sixteenth century modifications were made to the feudal building: addition of two wings, construction of a gallery on arcades, opening of mullioned windows, large staircase, chimneys, etc. At the Revolution, its towers are diminished and in 1905 the west curtain and the stables are demolished, highlighting the beautiful courtyard.
