In the 11th century, Bouchet was only a hunting house hidden among the woods, hence its name of Boscheto. In the 12th century, in the 1150s, was built by Raymond des Baux comte d'Orange, a Cistercian abbey of nuns: Notre Dame du Bosquet, whose first superior is known in 1184\. The Romanesque church which was built at the same time communicated with the abbey by an upper passage. The abbey experienced difficult times and was besieged many times. In this abbey lived part of his life and died in 1230, Saint Bertrand de Garrigue, 1st companion of Saint Dominique. The great plague of 1348, the plundering of large companies ended up ruining the abbey and its outbuildings, and in 1413 its domain was attached to that of Aiguebelle.
