Above Lake Naussac, the ancient fortified city of Pradelles, with its medieval streets lined with houses built over the centuries, offers a spectacular view of the entire Haut-Allier valley. Overlooking the Haut-Allier valley and Lake Naussac, at the crossroads of the old mule tracks, including the Chemin de Régordane (GR 700), Pradelles contains many historical monuments, memories of its prestigious past. Several kings of France, including Saint-Louis (in 1254), stopped there and, in 1878, Robert-Louis Stevenson did not fail to stop there (GR 70).
