From 1921 to 1933, Tony Garnier, to offer everyone a healthy home, developed, around the Boulevard des États-Unis, his humanist and hygienist vision. The social housing district of the United States, rehabilitated in the late 1980s and hosting the museum since 1992, has never ceased to be inhabited.
