Cuivrerie de Cerdon
rue de la Cuivrerie 01450 Cerdon
Nestled in a village bathed in rivers conducive to industry, the copper factory of Cerdon was born in the era of machinism. Demonstrating a rare know-how throughout the world, La Cuivrerie de Cerdon has transformed multiple metals for more than 150 years. Everyday utensils or prestigious objects, the latter has provided both large French kitchens, as well as luxury hotels like The Carlton Hotel in Monte Carlo.
A FAMILY STORY
The history of the Cerdon Copper Factory was first that of Eugène Main and Louis Carrier, who decided in 1836 to found a first metalworking workshop, before settling in 1867 in the heart of the village of Cerdon, on the current site of the Copper Factory. Initially a specialist in scale trays, its know-how quickly developed to the needs of other industries of excellence of the time, and this is how the Copper Factory of Cerdon will equip silk spinning mills, and in particular those of the emblematic factory of Claude-Joseph Bonnet, a few kilometers further, in Juju
