These paintings that adorn the wedding hall of the town hall are classified historical monument and were awarded the Heritage Prize of the General Council in 1991.
These canvases, restored in 1991, are stretched on frames and fixed in the woodwork. They represent 41 m² of painted decorations with the theme «the adventures of Don Quixote» after the work of Cervantes (1547-1616).
The four main paintings, reproducing clearly exposed and funny scenes, date from the second half of the eighteenth century.
They are not signed and no document attests to their origin; but the most probable hypothesis is that they are the work of itinerant artists who traveled the country offering their services to the owners of rich and noble homes.
