Odette Laguerre (1860-1956) was one of the pioneers of feminism in France. An essayist, she has published regularly in La Fronde, L'Aurore and Pages libres. An educator, she is a teacher of secondary education for girls, founder of the Feminist Education and Action Society in Lyon (1903) and secretary of the International League of Mothers and Educators for Peace.
Odette Laguerre lived in Bugey for over sixty years.
