The museum is distinguished by its visit itinerary organized around two main themes. While going back in time through the presentation of the ancient city of Izernore and its different facets, the visitor is also invited to be interested in the methods and techniques of archaeology as well as its actors. A simulation of the collections in reconstructions of atmospheres related to the life of the archaeological object, plunges into the universe of the discipline. From the excavation site to the study laboratory, the scenography strives to stick as closely as possible to the scientific approach adopted in archaeology so that the public understands the different stages.
