The vine in Auvergne-visit cellars in the district of the Forts de la Sauvetat. We used to say it was the vine that saved the Village Forts.
From the XVIth century and definitively after the wars of religion the village fortification no longer has its place.
In the winegrowing villages the unused buildings in the Forts were, quite naturally, arranged to receive the harvest and store the wine.
The wine crisis generated by phylloxera will affect Auvergne quite late. The Auvergne vine will develop to compensate for the non-production of the south of France.
The visitor will discover the history of the vine in general and its history in Auvergne before going down 2 floors and discover a circuit of cellars under 5 buildings.
Accompanied visit no more than 10 people at the same time.
