The guided tour of the exhibition will address rarely raised themes such as the particular affection of Prosper Marilhat for medieval and especially modern Egypt to which he wanted to give the best possible approach to the French public. Marilhat’s different artistic ways will also be evoked with a parallel between these and his moods. The accent will also be given to the various owners of the works presented, collectors of the nineteenth century whose sensitivity surely joined that of the painter himself.
