L'Atelier M, an engraving workshop in partnership with the Natural History Museum of Marseille
L'Atelier M opened its doors in 1995, its purpose is to encourage the creation of contemporary prints and their promotion. Created under the impetus of the artist Maoual, L'Atelier M is a place shared by many engravers, including Sabine Besançon, Marie Krauze and Michèle Voisin. Its durability and location make it an exceptional place. The tradition continues there and the creation is renewed with the introduction of confirmed artists. In this vein, L'Atelier M has formed a training organization: certified Qualiopi, it offers artists-authors training in cut-and-soft engraving. This year L'Atelier M, as well as all the workshops of the 25th, located at the 25 cours H. d'Estienne d'Orves in the Arcenaulx building, namely 7 workshops, has the chance to associate with the Natural History Museum of Marseille: we propose to put in relation the new creations of the year of the artists with the stuffed animals of the museum. The Natural History Museum will then offer a stroll through the floors to discover all these animals and talk about their preservation. Guided tours are offered at 11am, 2:30pm and 4:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays by small groups. It is a great adventure for us to show you not only our workshops and our creations, as well as to put them in parallel with the animals and the informative and playful stories that flow from them.
