Saint-Laud parish church built by architect Ernest Dainville. The first plans date from 1867 and the consecration occurs in 1876 (from sources). It replaces the former Collegiate Church of Saint Laud, located a little further south - the current Court of Saint Laud - which disappeared during the Revolution. A large neo-Romanesque church, the only existing one on Angers, by one of the main Angevins architects of the 19th century. Architecture perfectly representative of the historicism that prevailed in the 19th century. It suffered from the bombings of 1944\. The arrow has been rebuilt, the decoration simplified, which shows its present drought. It is probably worth more by its dominant position, facing the castle, closing and structuring the wide and rather undefined space of the President-Kennedy and the Academy. Its spire is visible from a distance and participates in the landscape of the city, just like the towers of the castle, the arrows of the cathedral or the tower of Saint-Aub
