Overlooking the river Oudon, the

, built in the 17th century, was built on the ruins of an ancient medieval castle of the 14th and 15th centuries.
The building is part of a rural and wooded landscape where the dovecote, the mill, the orangery, the vegetable garden and the cooler bear witness to the organization of life on an ancient castral site.
Exceptionally open during the European Heritage Days that will take place on 17 and 18 September 2022, you will be able to discover, during a guided tour, the different buildings of this vast domain.
The mill, the dovecote and the cooler will give you all their secrets and you will have the pleasure of strolling in the French gardens, the vegetable garden or the park.
The Sickle Castle is currently undergoing restoration work. An exceptional moment in the life of a building, the work involves the restoration of the stone dormers, the frame and the roofs. The guided tour will be an opportunity to discover behind the scenes of the site through various animations:
Video Screening:
A film describing the main phases of the project will be screened in order to discover the techniques, trades and know-how used in the restoration of the castle.
Photo exhibition:
A memory of the site, the photographs on display document the gestures and know-how used by fellow stonemasons and carpenters. They also allow a new look at the structure of the building, stripped bare for the needs of the site.
The scenography and the contents are realized by Studio Sherlock, the audiovisual production agency expert and specialized in the valorization of the architectural heritage and restoration sites of historic monuments.
