Since the time of its early construction, the church has undergone many transformations. The building, oriented East-West, immediately served as a parish church under the name of Saint Marcel.

Mairie de Briollay
Built in the 11th and 12th centuries, the building rises on a shady square, today offers a very sober facade.
The entrance gate, with a round arch, is surmounted by a vault decorated with saw teeth.
Formerly part of the priory, the church was presented with a nave without transept and walls of grey rubble and limestone, 1.20m thick. We can suppose a choir of small size comparable to that of the chapel of the Roche-Foulques, covered with slate, material used from the XIIth century.
Free visit throughout the weekend.
