Temple protestant
25 Grande rue du temple, 85210 Sainte-Hermine
Built in 1824 in the taste of time (Gothic Revival style, antique plan, pediment, columns and palm capitals), this small temple shows the visibility of Protestantism in public space after a century and a half of prohibition. The pulpit overlooks the communion table, a space made like a classroom, few objects except the bible and the harmonium, no representation, decorations of recent geometric and floral motifs. The interior expresses the essential characteristics of Protestant theology.
