Built on the edge of the Jouanne, the Grande Courbe has two faces. On the courtyard, a facade regularized in the Renaissance develops on three main buildings built in the 14th and 15th centuries. On the river side, the stately home flanked by towers reflects in the moat a romantic medieval facade. The important restoration carried out for fifty years by the current owners has endeavored to restore its former splendour to this house transformed into a farm during the Revolution. The absence of facilities after the end of the 16th century will allow you to find the physiognomy of a seigneurial residence of the last centuries of the Middle Ages. The owners will guide you through the courtyard and the garden and will present you the restoration of the old castle houses, realized with methods and local materials respectful of the environment (wood, stone, lime and torchis) that have proven, through maintenance, a durability of nearly 800 years: - the old house; - the monumental granite staircase; - the Renaissance garden, structured by four alleys framing boxwood beds; - the south facade flanked by towers connected by an external gallery overlooking the moat; - the 14th century barn-hall (frame of 1637), with presentation of the last restoration work.
