The 11th century chapel of Montreuil en Champagne has been listed as a Historical Monument since June 2018\. Formerly church of the commune of Montreuil known as Monstrolium in Campania in the Gallo-Roman era. Built around 1050, it was attached to the commune of Joué en Charnie in 1809.Around 1048, Froger, son of Lonuchon and grandson of Popelin, holding fief at Malicorne, had four children: Guillaume father of Guillaume de l'Isle en Mareil; Havise married to Geoffroi de Montporcher, near Chaource in Saint-Symphorien; Giroie became a monk and Robert seigneur of Montreuil who donated the church of Montreuil and the cemetery to Abbé Avesgaud. Around 1106, Bishop Hildebert confirmed to Saint-Vincent the possession of the church of Montreuil, subject to the episcopal, synodal and other ecclesiastical rights he received there.
