The castle was probably built by Simon de Tinténiac, King René’s Sharp Squire between 1495 and 1510. The estate passes to the Bautru who also owned Serrant and Plessis Macé. Acquired in 1749 and then sold in 1752, the estate has been transferred to the same family, and the castle was restored around 1850. Consisting of two main buildings with dormers and stone mullions, the castle has a chapel with buttresses and a flamboyant vault with lancet windows and newly restored stained glass windows.
