The photographic project AAM AASTHA by Charles Fréger is part of the continuation of his research on masquerades in the world The exhibition is open access. The mediation team offers introductions to discover the exhibition, between 10h30 and 16h30 (duration 15mn approximately)

Built between 1465 and 1500 by Francis II and then by his daughter Duchess Anne, the castle replaces a fortress of the thirteenth century whose only survives a polygonal tower called Old Keep. Flanked by stocky and oversized towers, covered in terrace and equipped with low machicolations, the enclosure is characteristic of the transformations imposed on traditional medieval architecture by the use of heavy artillery. In the courtyard, the Grand Logis and the Tower of the Golden Crown have, since 1500, a transition ornamentation between the flamboyant Gothic and the Renaissance, while the other buildings (Small and Grand Government, Harnachement) testify to the continuous use of the castle between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. They house a large museum of history of Nantes and the Nantes country. The impressive restoration of the castle marks the visitor who enters the courtyard.
