Three days of activities and discoveries to celebrate the restoration of the collegiate church and the return of Rembrandt’s painting!

  • Friday, September 16
    18h : inauguration the interior restoration of the collegiate church and the new presentation of Rembrandt’s painting "Christ on the Cross" (1631);
    18.45 : guided tour on the collegiate church and Rembrandt’s painting;
    7.30pm : musical cocktail animated by the Couleur Duo ensemble (saxophone and double bass);
    21h: screening in preview of the film «Le Retour du Tableau», in the Saint-Vincent collegiate school – film written and directed by Stéphane Bihan – co-production of the association “Rembrandt au Mas!” and Mara Films (Sept. 2022).
  • Saturday, September 17
    From 10am to 4pm: - visits of the village of Mas-d'Agenais, with Chantal Beaucourt, Country Storyteller (leaving the hemp market at 10am, 11.30am, 2.30pm, 4pm. Duration: 1h). - visit of the collegiate church and its treasures, with Stéphane Rouquet, guide lecturer at the Val de Garonne Tourist Office. You will go through the history and architecture of the collegiate church and then, Évelyne Dietlin-Codet of the association «Rembrandt au Mas!» will propose to you to discover all the mysteries of the painting "Christ on the Cross" by Rembrandt. Finally, Jean-Philippe Maisonnave, researcher at the Heritage and Inventory Department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, will stop on the furniture of the church (paintings, stalls, stained glass windows, etc.) evoking the practice of copying in the 19th century (departure from the square of the collegiate church every 45mn. Duration: 1h).
    18h: concert in the collegiate church with the ensemble Pierre Taconné (string quartet, music around the world). (Duration: 1h. Free entry to the extent of places available) ; 7pm: restoration under the market and musical animation with La Fanfare à Six Pattes; 9pm: open-air cinema in the Parc de la Mairie with the film «Le Tableau» (animated film directed by Jean-François Laguionie, released in France in 2011. In an unfinished picture live characters that the painter has not quite finished, the Toupins, the Pafinis and the Reufs. The Toupins take power.   • visits of the collegiate church and discovery of the painting of Rembrandt (departure: forecourt of the collegiate church. Duration: 1h);
  • visits of the village of Mas-d'Agenais with Chantal BEAUCOURT, storyteller of Pays (departure: hemp market. Duration: 1h);
    17h: musical animation with the Massais artist Raphaël De Maio.

Built at the heart of a medieval market town, collegiate Saint Vincent overhangs a channel(canal) and the Garonne. It is one of the most remarkable Romanic buildings of the South-Garonne, listed(classified) on the first list of Historic monuments in 1840.
