On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of André Chandernagor, Former Minister, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour, the Resource Centre of the International City of Tapestry became since September 19, 2021:
Resource Centre – Bibliothèque des Arts André Chandernagor (CRBAC), founder of the Centre culturel et artistique Jean Lurçat and the former departmental tapestry museum opened in 1982.
The CRBAC results from the merger of the Documentation Centre of the former Departmental Museum of Tapestry and the Library of the National School of Decorative Arts (ENAD) founded in 1884.
The inscription of the Aubusson tapestry on the representative list of the "Cultural and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO in 2009 and the scientific and cultural project (PSC) of the Cité internationale de la tapisserie guide the content of its documentary holdings.
The Centre de Ressources-Bibliothèque des Arts André Chandernagor, on the 2nd floor of the Cité internationale de la tapisserie, will introduce you to its works and a selection of heritage collections on its reserves.

The registration(inscription) in 2009 of the tapestry of Aubusson on the list representative of the intangible Cultural heritage of the humanity by the UNESCO intervened at a moment when the transmission of this old know-how of the six centuries was in danger. To preserve him(it), the International City(Estate) of tapestry wished in 2010, to set up a training(formation) of lissiers, the first one(night) since almost 20 years. The organisation and the implementation were confided(entrusted) to GRETA of Limousin who set up a route(course) of training(formation) over 2 years (COURSE(CAPE) and Patent(Certificate) of the Jobs(Businesses) by art). The pupils benefit from equipments of the City(Estate) of tapestry, as from direct access to collections. All teachings are bound(connected) to the actions(shares) of the City(Estate): promotion(valuation) of heritage, contemporary creation, partnership with different schools and actors of luxury and of fashion.
