The church St Pierre de Courcerault that you can exceptionally visit this weekend on the occasion of the European Heritage Days is a beautiful building of Romanesque origin (12th-16th century) enhanced by a neo-Romanesque bell tower in the 19th century. The church is rich in many remarkable elements: the high altar, consisting of a large altarpiece in the Louis XIII style, and the curved tabernacle in the Louis XV style, are included in the additional inventory of historical monuments, the magnificent stained glass windows of the 19th century, signed Lorin de Chartres, were restored in 2020. But the work that particularly catches the attention of the visitor is its panelled vault painted in fresco by Abbé Vingtier, artist and cabinetmaker of formation, parish priest from 1884 to 1898, who also carved for his church the choir stalls and the communion table (listed in the Historical Monuments).
