La porte de la chapelle Saint-Vincent
Quartier de Lebisey, 14200 Hérouville-Saint-Clair
The Saint-Vincent chapel, remnant of the 13th century. of an outbuilding of the Abbaye d'Ardenne is listed as a historical monument since 2004
After the bombardments of June 1944, the elevation of the western facade remains as a vestige, as well as the northern buttress. The pedestals of the portal have kept their colonnettes with capitals with hooks that allow to date this construction of the thirteenth century. The building had a rectangular plan. The chapel served as a burial place for the seigneurs of Lébisey. During the Revolution, the building was sold as a national property (1795), and the priory was transformed into a farm. The nave of the chapel becomes an orangery and the choir a private chapel.
