Die im 12. Jahrhundert im Tal der Siena gegründete Abtei beherbergte bis zum Vorabend der Revolution Benediktiner. Sie war über ein halbes Jahrhundert lang Gegenstand langer und geduldiger Restaurierungsarbeiten.
Die Abtei von Hambye, die unter Denkmalschutz steht, zählt zu den vollständigsten mittelalterlichen Klosteranlagen in der Unteren Normandie und fügt sich in eine majestätische Umgebung ein, die als empfindliche Naturräume geschützt ist.

Das digitale Gerät Hambye 3D vervollständigt den Rundgang im Freien.
Es bietet eine virtuelle Wiedergabe der verschiedenen Gebäude der Abtei im 15. Jahrhundert durch 3D- und 360°-Ansichten, die sich mit der realen Ansicht überlagern. Ein Überblick über den gesamten Standort und seine Umgebung, der in der Dauerausstellung auf einem Touchscreen-Tisch zugänglich ist, vervollständigt 2021 das Gerät.

Die Ausstellung «Geschichten der Abtei» erzählt in ihrer Gesamtheit die Geschichte der Abtei Hambye. Die Ausstellung "Gemälde von Hambye, eine wenig bekannte Volkskunst des 19. Jahrhunderts" zeigt eine lokale Produktion auf halbem Weg zwischen Kunst und Kunsthandwerk. Die Sonderausstellung ermöglicht eine Entdeckung von Maurice Matieu, Maler, Mathematiker, engagierter Intellektueller, Schriftsteller. Vor allem aber drückt er seine Beziehung zur Welt und sein Engagement unermüdlich in der Malerei aus.

Founded in the 12th century in the Siena valley, the abbey welcomed Benedictines until the eve of the Revolution. It has been the subject for more than half a century of long and patient restoration work.
Listed as a historical monument, the Hambye Abbey is one of the most complete medieval monastic complexes in Lower Normandy and is part of a majestic environment protected by the title of sensitive natural spaces.

The Hambye 3D digital device completes the outdoor tour.
It offers a virtual restitution of the various buildings of the abbey in the fifteenth century through 3D and 360° views superimposed on the real view. A view of the entire site and its surroundings, accessible by touch table in the permanent exhibition, completes the device in 2021.

The exhibition «Stories of the Abbey» tells the whole story of the Hambye Abbey. The exhibition "Toiles de Hambye, un art populaire méconnu du XIXe siècle" presents a local production halfway between art and crafts. La mostra «Histoires del'abbaye» ripercorre nella sua globalità la storia dell'abbazia di Hambye. La mostra "Toiles de Hambye, un'arte popolare sconosciuta del XIX secolo" presenta una produzione locale a metà strada tra arte e artigianato. La mostra temporanea permette una scoperta di Maurice Matieu, pittore, è anche matematico, intellettuale impegnato, scrittore. Ma è soprattutto, e instancabilmente, attraverso la pittura che esprime il suo rapporto con il mondo e il suo impegno.

Fondée au XIIe siècle dans la vallée de la Sienne, l’abbaye a accueilli des bénédictins jusqu’à la veille de la Révolution. Elle a fait l’objet pendant plus d’un demi-siècle de longs et patients travaux de restauration.
