Musée Connaissance du Cotentin
Located in an old farm of the nineteenth century, on the heights of the village of La Verrerie, the museum Connaissance du Cotentin is a place of memory dedicated to the Cotentin of yesteryear and the past glassmaker of the commune. An industrial epic that remains unknown. Indeed, here, from 1665 to 1830, a Royal Manufacture of Mirrors flourished, to which we owe the 357 mirrors adorning the hall of mirrors of the Palace of Versailles! To discover also, a unique collection of Norman headgear and a temporary exhibition dedicated to the trip of Louis XVI in Normandy. In Cherbourg he inaugurated the construction of the dike. This journey was the monarch’s only trip to the provinces.
