Curious collection. In search of the Gallo-Roman Rouen
For Rouen, as for other cities, the 19th century was a period of great works and profound transformations, to which we owe our present face. The exhibition presented at the Museum of Antiquities aims to revisit the different facets of Jacques-Michel Thaurin’s personality and his very original method of data collection. It also explores the discoveries unearthed from the trenches of the Second Empire and proposes to dive into the heart of the study of the unpublished coins of the Thaurin collection, essential documents for the knowledge of the monetary circulation in Rotomagus.
