Made of red bricks and white stones, Lisieux Town Hall was built as a private residence in 1713 for Charles Le Bas, a member of one of the most important families in the region.
The organization of France in communes with elected municipal councils dates from the French Revolution. In poor condition, the building purchased by the city, required major work to convert it into a town hall.
Today we can admire the design of the 18th century mansion "between courtyard and garden" and the 19th century interior decorations with large lounges, mirrors and silk curtains.
