Located in the forest of Roumare, in the loops of the Normandy Seine, the Manoir de l'Aumônerie was built around 1214 by the Templars. It is one of the rare examples of Gothic civil architecture. After the dissolution of the order of the Temple in the fourteenth century, the domain belonged to the monks of Saint Georges de Boscherville and became the Chaplaincy of the abbey until the French Revolution. As a farm owned by private individuals, various agricultural buildings were built. The manor was gradually separated from its lands in the 20th century and farming ceased in the 1960s. The property was inscribed in the Historic Monuments in 1974, and a great restoration began…
