Exhibition: the school of yesteryear

Every year since 2016, the Association de Sauvegarde du Patrimoine de l'église offers you to discover a new exhibition, to go back in time to discover the history of the village.

Come discover an exhibition on the theme of the school of yesteryear, but also the life of children: games, work, religious life... . A classroom will be reconstituted, as well as a children’s room to dive back into the past. You can also discover the history of the Saint-Victor school, from its foundation in the 18th century, until the last expansion works. For the volunteers, some exercises in French, arithmetic, history geography and natural sciences will be proposed. Good points will be up for grabs!!

The church of Saint-Victor, listed as a historical monument in 1993, is dedicated to Victor, bishop of Le Mans in the fifth century. Its construction began in the twelfth century and continued with its expansion, including the nave widened in the thirteenth and the side chapels built in the fifteenth century. It has the particularity of having a cruciform plan and it has a bell tower in octagonal frame which has retained its roof in chestnut tiles. Its furniture is of quality, on the outside there is a crest of the sixteenth century, classified as an object at the Historical Monuments in 1905, stained glass windows of the sixteenth and twentieth centuries, and several statues and paintings of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
