Impromptu Corneille
LAURENT CHARPENTIER
For this impromptu, Laurent Charpentier, a great connoisseur of Corneille, will make us (re)discover the versified language and the theatre of our “French Shakespeare”, as he likes to say, from Cid to Suréna, via La place royale…
Trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in Paris in the classes of Dominique Valadié, Catherine Hiegel and François Regnault, Laurent Charpentier plays with many directors: Bernard Sobel, Alain Françon, Emmanuel Demarcy- Mota, Lukas Hemleb, Brigitte Jaques-Wajeman, Jeanne Champagne, Frédéric Maragnani, Caterina Gozzi, Matthieu Roy, Jonathan Châtel, Sandrine Lanno, Emilie Rousset, Thibault Rossigneux, Régis de Martrin-Donos, Julia Vidit, Mirabelle Rousseau. He is also staging this winter at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris Frères et soeurs by Philipe Minyana. He is also a drama teacher at the Cours Florent.
As a side note to "L'impromptu de Versailles", an improvised piece by Molière for Louis XIV, «les impromptus» play out in a playful, unexpected and spontaneous way the artistic identity of the festival in reference to the magical opera La Toison d'or de Corneille created in the Old TownCastle in 1660, between theatre, music and wonderful travel…
