Eriamel wrote his first script «Tourmente sur Brutusvilliers» in 1989, for Montivilliers during the Bicentenary of the Revolution. His meeting with another Havrais Darvil will be decisive, «Moi Svein, companion of Hasting» is first an album for a family audience. Very quickly, he realizes that if the comic can narrate facts, drawing allows, to reconstruct objects and places by relying on archaeology. Will be presented drawings of the reconstitutions in connection with the historical documentations, and the comics themselves. Examples related to Normandy will be revealed. Through his contacts with historians and archaeologists, his comics take volume, his scenarios are developed directly by the sources (chronicles, charters etc…). In the impasse, his methods intrigue academics, because unlike them, he is not of literary training. All recognize that his multi-disciplinary approaches, allowed him to go to the end of his research and that he offers plausible narrations: The Historian Comic Book was born...
