THE SHRINE OF SAINT TAURIN

In the thirteenth century, Gislebert de Saint-Martin, abbot of Saint-Taurin, had the shrine executed as it is still visible, in order to house the relics of the first bishop of Evreux bishop. It was first deposited at Notre-Dame d'Évreux Cathedral before returning to the parish church in 1803. Moved to the museum about ten years ago, she is expected to return to the church following the renovation work.
You will have the opportunity to discover a selection of photos illustrating the different operations necessary for his return in one of the chapels of the abbey church (opening of the window, moving, etc.).

It presents collections relating to the history of the ancient city and the great historical episodes of the city and surrounding territory. His collection of abstract paintings from the second half of the 20th century testifies to close ties with artists and collectors.
