Le pressoir
Allée du Pressoir 78420 Carrières-sur-Seine
The wine press, dating from the early 18th century, testifies to the importance of the wine culture in the past economic life of the municipality. Recently included in the heritage inventory, the eighteenth century wheel and stringed press, called "labeled" belonged to Jean Sarazin, winemaker of quarries in 1762\. It is always in a cellar on one level. It is a press with "central wheel", this one ensuring the pressing of the vintage through the intermediary of a maie placed below. The manoeuvre was carried out by a rope with arms of men or by a capstan.
