The Gothic-style Saint Martin Church was built during the reign of Saint Louis in the 13th century. Devastated during the hundred-year war in the 14th century, it was rebuilt during the following century. Subsequently important restorations took place in the 18th and 19th centuries. The church of Saint Martin has been listed as a historical monument since April 1, 1910.

À propos du lieu

Built in the Gothic style, probably on Merovingian foundations, it is said to have been built around 1250\. Its originality is undoubtedly its lantern of the dead. Note also the portal, dated from the 15th century which is one of the most beautiful of the Île-de-France. Two buildings enlarged the church: the baptismal font in 1730 and the sacristy in 1750\. During the Revolution, some surprising events took place in the church: the arrest of the vicar Nativelle, the conversion of the place into "Temple of reason", the celebration of the feast of "the Supreme Being" and a multitude of political meetings.
