At the time of its foundation in 1939, the museum called then «Louis Senlecq museum» is installed(settled) in a part(party) of the «House of Joséphites», built in 1661 by the royal prince Armand de Bourbon Conti (1629-1666), Lord of L'Isle-Adam.
