Homage to his father, to Jean Jaurès, to all the Johns who went into battle rocked by boldness and faith in progress; this solo by Patrice de Bénédetti approaches with strength, tenderness and amenity the notions of gift, hope, relationship to oneself and to the world. The War Memorial, an ordinary place, only becomes a “high place” once or twice a year. Could it not be something more than a serious place, full of history? Welcoming only military ceremonies and commemorations? It is not a cemetery in the city, imposing recollection and silence. This is a place of testimony; where speaking should be possible, even by the body. A simple stone platform where a story could be told.
