The first known communal wash-house is that of the fountain, it was built between 1825 and 1831, rue de la fontaine.
Two other communal washhouses will be built at the beginning of the third republic to serve the inhabitants distant from it. The wash-house known as «de Guermantes» is barely visible from the road, just an old plastered wall, it is below the road and is accessed by a staircase of fourteen steps rue du Bas-Villiers.
The Bas-Villiers washhouse was built in 1875 on the site of the "Fontaine Bonne Eau".
