Église Notre-Dame
Place Notre-Dame 95300 Pontoise
In 1177, the Church of Notre-Dame was built as a chapel for the inhabitants of a popular suburb called 'la foulerie'. The church was enlarged in the 12th century and partly demolished during the Hundred Years' War. It was transformed into a basilica during the reign of Charles VII and was demolished again during the Wars of Religion. It was consecrated in 1599\. This church has undergone extensive restoration work and is now illuminated every night.
