Accompanied by the site’s mediators, children and teenagers will discover poems dedicated to the resistance or written by gunmen from Mont-Valérien before being able to write some verses themselves. With this free expression, they will be able to materialize and transmit, in rhymes, their discovery and their feelings following their visit to the Mont-Valérien memorial. Open to all, these poems will then be exhibited to the public present on the occasion of these heritage days.

À propos du lieu

Mémorial du Mont-Valérien
Avenue du Professeur Léon-Bernard 92150 Suresnes
  • Hauts-de-Seine
  • Île-de-France
A medieval place of worship that became a military fortress during the 19th century, Mont-Valérien was the main place where resistance fighters and hostages were executed in France by the German army during the Second World War.
The multiplicity of the routes of the 1008 shot, allows us today to describe the diversity. After the war, the site was chosen to honour the memory of the dead for France from 1939 to 1945, and on June 18, 1960, General de Gaulle inaugurated the Memorial of Fighting France.
These men, assassinated because they were resisters, hostages, Jews or communists are as many reminders to our history that naturally made this site the first of the High places of national memory of the Ministry of Armies, today managed by the National Board of Veterans and Victims of War.
