Das im Jahr 2016 eingeweihte elisabethanische Theater wurde vom Architekturbüro Studio Andrew Todd entworfen, dem Gewinner des 2013 von der Abteilung initiierten Architektenwettbewerbs.
Mit einer Kapazität von 388 Sitzplätzen ist es von den historischen Prinzipien des elisabethanischen Theaters inspiriert, passt aber in seine Zeit ein. Als Gebäude des 21. Jahrhunderts wurde es nach den Anforderungen seiner Zeit entworfen: Ökologie, Sicherheit, Komfort, Zugänglichkeit usw. Die natürliche Umgebung und das Streben nach Nachhaltigkeit haben das Team von Andrew Todd dazu veranlasst, eine Holzkonstruktion zu entwerfen. Diese Fichtenplatten ermöglichen eine hervorragende akustische Leistung. Im Innenraum ist Holz allgegenwärtig. Hier findet man Lärche, Fichte und gewachste Roheiche.
Der Bambuskäfig: überlagert mit dem Theater, vereinheitlicht er die äußere Form des architektonischen Ensembles. Das Spiel von Licht und Schatten, das sie schafft, trägt zur Integration des Ortes in seine natürliche Umgebung bei. Die Verwendung von 12 Meter hohen Bambusschalen ist eine Premiere in Frankreich.
Kontrolliertes Tageslicht: Im Gegensatz zu englischen elisabethanischen Theatern entschied sich der Architekt, den Ort zu decken. Ein Glasdach bietet jedoch Tageslicht, um Energie zu sparen. Diese Überdachung kann je nach Bedarf verdeckt werden.
Das Theater erhielt 2017 den Preis für den besten Holzbau der Welt (2017 World Architecture News).

Inaugurated in 2016, the Elizabethan theatre was designed by the architectural firm Studio Andrew Todd, winner of the architectural competition initiated in 2013 by the Department.
With a capacity of 388 seats, it is inspired by the historical principles of Elizabethan theatre but is part of its time. Building of the 21st century, it is designed according to the requirements of its time: ecology, safety, comfort, accessibility, etc. The natural environment and the concern for sustainable development inspired the team of Andrew Todd to imagine a wooden structure. These spruce panels allow to obtain exceptional acoustic performances. Inside, wood is omnipresent. It contains larch, spruce and waxed oak.
The bamboo cage: superimposed on the theatre, it unifies the exterior shape of the architectural ensemble. The play of shadow and light she creates contributes to the integration of the place in its natural environment. The use of bamboo thatches 12 meters high is a first in France.
Controlled natural light: unlike the English Elizabethan theatres, the architect chose to cover the place. Nevertheless, a glass roof allows to benefit from natural light, in order to save energy. This canopy can be hidden as required.
In 2017, the theatre received the prize for the best wooden construction in the world (2017 World Architecture News).

Inaugurato nel 2016, il teatro elisabettiano è stato progettato dallo studio di architettura Andrew Todd, vincitore del concorso di architetti avviato nel 2013 dal Dipartimento.
Con una capacità di 388 posti a sedere, si ispira ai principi storici del teatro elisabettiano ma si inserisce nel suo tempo. Edificio del XXI secolo, è stato progettato secondo le esigenze del suo tempo: ecologia, sicurezza, comfort, accessibilità, ecc. L'ambiente naturale e la preoccupazione per la sostenibilità hanno spinto il team di Andrew Todd a immaginare una struttura in legno. Questi pannelli in abete rosso consentono di ottenere prestazioni acustiche eccezionali. All'interno, il legno è onnipresente. Vi si trovano larice, abete rosso e quercia grezza cerata.
La gabbia di bambù: sovrapposta al teatro, unifica la forma esterna dell'insieme architettonico. Il gioco di luci e ombre che crea partecipa all'integrazione del luogo nel suo ambiente naturale. L'uso di stoppie di bambù alte 12 metri è il primo in Francia.
Luce naturale controllata: a differenza dei teatri elisabettiani inglesi, l'architetto ha scelto di coprire il luogo. Tuttavia, una vetrata permette di beneficiare della luce naturale, per risparmiare energia. Questa tettoia può essere oscurata a seconda delle esigenze.
Il teatro ha ricevuto nel 2017 il premio per la migliore costruzione in legno nel mondo (2017 World Architecture News).

Inauguré en 2016, le théâtre élisabéthain a été conçu par le cabinet d’architecture Studio Andrew Todd, lauréat du concours d’architectes initié en 2013 par le Département.
D’une capacité de 388 places assises, il s’inspire des principes historiques du théâtre élisabéthain mais s’inscrit dans son temps. Bâtiment du XXIe siècle, il est conçu selon les exigences de son époque : écologie, sécurité, confort, accessibilité, etc. L’environnement naturel et le souci de développement durable ont incité l’équipe d’Andrew Todd à imaginer une structure bois. Ces panneaux en épicéa permettent d’obtenir des performances acoustiques exceptionnelles. À l’intérieur, le bois est omniprésent. On y trouve du mélèze, de l’épicéa et du chêne brut ciré.
La cage de bambou : superposée au théâtre, elle unifie la forme extérieure de l’ensemble architectural. Le jeu d’ombre et de lumière qu’elle crée participe à l’intégration du lieu dans son environnement naturel. L’utilisation de chaumes de bambou de 12 mètres de hauteur est une première en France.
La lumière naturelle contrôlée : contrairement aux théâtres élisabéthains anglais, l’architecte a fait le choix de couvrir le lieu. Néanmoins, une verrière permet de bénéficier de la lumière naturelle, par souci d’économie d’énergie. Cette verrière peut être occultée selon les besoins.
Le théâtre a reçu en 2017 le prix de la meilleure construction en bois dans le monde (2017 World Architecture News).

Inaugurado en 2016, el teatro isabelino fue diseñado por el estudio de arquitectura Andrew Todd, ganador del concurso de arquitectos iniciado por el Departamento en 2013.
Con una capacidad de 388 asientos, se inspira en los principios históricos del teatro isabelino, pero se inscribe en su tiempo. Edificio del siglo XXI, diseñado según las exigencias de su época: ecología, seguridad, confort, accesibilidad, etc. El entorno natural y la preocupación por el desarrollo sostenible incitaron al equipo de Andrew Todd a imaginar una estructura de madera. Estos paneles de abeto permiten obtener un rendimiento acústico excepcional. En el interior, la madera es omnipresente. Hay alerce, abeto y roble en bruto encerado.
La jaula de bambú: superpuesta al teatro, unifica la forma exterior del conjunto arquitectónico. El juego de luces y sombras que crea contribuye a la integración del lugar en su entorno natural. El uso de cañas de bambú de 12 metros de altura es una primera vez en Francia.
Luz natural controlada: a diferencia de los teatros isabelinos ingleses, el arquitecto decidió cubrir el lugar. Sin embargo, una vidriera permite beneficiarse de la luz natural, por razones de ahorro de energía. Esta claraboya podrá ocultarse según las necesidades.
El teatro recibió en 2017 el premio a la mejor construcción de madera en el mundo (2017 World Architecture News).
