Come share an exceptional day

We propose you on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September 2022, at 9:00, 11:00 14:30 and 16:30, a guided tour by Louis-Michel CONNEN, current owner of the wooded park created in 2000 by her mother, Lily CONNEN, and the**'inside the castle**.
During the visit, you can admire a rare weeping beech planted by the Count of FLAVIGNY in the 1700s, a bamboo grove created by Lily CONNEN, many species of tropicalexotic trees (ginko biloba, catalpa, albizia, magnolia.).
Louis-Michel CONNEN will tell you thehistory of the castle, the estate and its trees during the visit.
You will discover the new creations and installations made by the Friends of the Château de Charmes, 1901 Law Association founded in 2017 for the animation and safeguarding of the domain. A gazebo, a rose garden, a reception tent of 130 m²...of games...
At the start of the visit, which will take place under this capital, with a refreshment or a welcome coffee, you will have a presentation projects for the castle:
• rehabilitation of the 1740 wing in the exhibition and reception hall, sanitary
• return of the castle’s original entrance,
• reconstruction of the roof as it was before 1918
• Return of the brick and stone façade as before the 1914 war
• creation in the castle of an artists' residence
• rehabilitation of the common building into a guest house
• creation of access and outdoor parking on the property
You can if you want, join the association, make a donation to support the actions of the association.
You can also buy and stamp the heritage passport, the castle of Charmes being part of the pilot sites of the heritage passport.
Then Louis-Michel CONNEN will accompany you through the park and then in the castle, telling you the history of the estate and the families who succeeded there.
Your journey will take you toattic/attic to admire the century-old structure and discover an observation post used by German soldiers during the war 14/18, the castle being an element of the Hindenburg line.
You will finish the tour by the premises to be rehabilitated (wing of 1740, common).
Saturday and Sunday noon, the park and its facilities (tent, tables, barbecue, ...) will be at your disposal if you want to share your meal, picnic, bbq.. It has been a tradition since 2017 to open the park for a "Spanish Inn" or everyone brings food, drink and we share this meal in friendship.
Of games (badminton, Breton pucks, bowls, frogs, balls, croquet games.) are at your disposal to spend a good moment of relaxation in the park.
On Sunday, another tradition since 2017, you can come and admire the old vehicles of the members of the association AUTO RETRO PASSION 02.
