The life of a heritage document is fraught with obstacles: humidity, heat, travel, greedy insects, poverty of materials or untimely manipulations ... there is no shortage of dangers! Digital technology then becomes its best ally, useful for its preservation and dissemination. We propose you a small overview of the emblematic degradations of heritage collections according to the eras and types of documents, and a discovery of the digital tools that will allow you an increasingly simple and virtuous consultation.

The Library(Bookcase) of Town(Conglomeration) was done up in the buildings(ships) of the old(former) middle school(college) of the Walloon Jesuits of which the room of classes, rebuilt in 1893\. In 1997, a contemporary wing was added. The site joins therefore in the four centuries of architecture. Indoors, the room of heritage receives the old(former) woodworks of the library(bookcase) of the abbey Saint-Bertin, and groups(includes) numerous manuscripts and incunabulum of which a volume of the famous Bible in 42 lines of Gutenberg.
