"Centule, l'insolite" is an exhibition of photographs proposed by Manuel Conty "I return to the wonder of my childhood by now seeking a meaning and suffering less torment from all sides. It is this bond that I try to weave with the photographic tool between me, these places and you, it is simply to share the wonder of the child that is in me." This is the approach of the artist Manuel Conty. After the abbey of Belval, he is in Saint-Riquier with the aim of showing it in a new light, with a virgin gaze, a look far from any preconceived ideas, far from sterile enclaves. To show what he feels, to show what seems to be invisible at first sight, to show that these are places of life where it is possible, whatever our origins or our beliefs, to feel vibrations, that these places are our past, our present and if we take care to make them live, our future.
This exhibition takes place in the old office of the abbot. All these marvels are to be discovered until December 16, 2022.

The monastery founded in the seventh century became a royal abbey in 632 by the protection granted to it by King Dagobert I. His importance was such that in 790 Charlemagne placed at his head one of the highest figures of his court, Angilbert, his adviser. Major abbey of the Carolingian world, it is destroyed in 881 by the invasion of the Normans. In total it will suffer of seventeen destructions. The eclectic architecture of the monument testifies to this turbulent past.
During the French Revolution, the old conventual buildings were sold as national property. Initially used as a quarry of stones, they will then receive many assignments, military (hospitals during the t
