A first castle was built in the sixteenth century for Jean de Chastenay. The building consisted of a large park with trees, a main building surrounded by a wall, towers and moats, and a drawbridge.
The current residence dates from the 18th century, in the Louis XVI style, and was built for Gabriel François Joseph de Giey, Baron de Villars between 1771 and 1780\. The main building has a simple facade to the south, with two small domed roof wings. The central part of the main façade is surmounted by a low pediment. The main building is topped by a flat-tiled hipped roof.
The tower built in 1525 remains today, it is the only remnant of the previous castle. It is a cylindrical two-storey structure topped by a pepper roof and endowed with very thick walls with a fire mouth. The ground floor features a monumental fireplace surmounted by a coat of arms (hammered during the Revolution), a beautiful tapestry and a French-style ceiling. On the first floor there is a bedroom with canopy bed. Fina
