Das gallo-römische Museum in Biesheim ist ausschließlich der antiken Stätte Oedenburg gewidmet, deren Interesse umfangreiche archäologische Operationen ausgelöst hat. Diese Ausgrabungen lieferten reichlich archäologisches Mobiliar und ermöglichten ein besseres Verständnis der städtischen Organisation der Agglomeration.
Die religiösen Überzeugungen sind ebenfalls gut dokumentiert, da diese Siedlung einen heiligen Bereich von etwa zehn Tempeln sowie ein Heiligtum beherbergt, das dem östlichen Kult von Mithra gewidmet ist, So konnten wir Votivobjekte ausstellen und eine Opfergrube im Museum rekonstruieren.
In den Schaufenstern werden verschiedene Themen behandelt, darunter Handel, Bestattungsriten, Kunsthandwerk und Schmuck. Wir zeigen viele Zeugnisse des häuslichen Lebens: Religion, Schmuck, Geschirr, Werkzeuge, Münzen. Alle Exponate wurden bei archäologischen Ausgrabungen in Biesheim entdeckt.
Das Herzstück der Kollektion ist zweifellos die wunderschöne Intaille von Commodus, ein außergewöhnliches Schmuckstück. Es ist das Herzstück unserer Sammlungen und der Ursprung des Museums. Seine Besonderheit liegt in seinen außergewöhnlichen Dimensionen und der Finesse der gravierten Szene, die Kaiser Commodus auf dem Pferd zeigt, wie er einen barbarischen König besiegt. Es ist ein Objekt, das einen Besuch im Museum wert ist.

The Gallo-Roman Museum of Biesheim is exclusively dedicated to the ancient site of Oedenburg, whose interest has prompted large-scale archaeological operations. These excavations have provided abundant archaeological furniture and helped to better understand the urban organization of the agglomeration.
Religious beliefs are also well documented on the site, since this agglomeration has housed a sacred area of about ten temples as well as a shrine dedicated to the oriental worship of Mithras, which allowed us to exhibit votive objects and to reconstruct an offering pit in the museum.
Various themes are addressed in the windows, including trade, funeral rites, crafts, adornments. We exhibit many testimonies of domestic life: religion, jewelry, dishes, tools, coins. I should point out that all the objects on display were discovered in Biesheim during the archaeological excavations.
The centerpiece of the collection is undoubtedly the magnificent intaglio of Commodus, it is an exceptional jewel. It is the centrepiece of our collections, and it is the source of the creation of the museum. Its particularity lies in its exceptional dimensions and the finesse of the engraved scene that represents the Emperor Commodus on horseback in the course of slaying a barbarian king. It is an object worth visiting the museum.

Il museo gallo-romano di Biesheim è dedicato esclusivamente al sito antico di Oedenburg, il cui interesse ha suscitato operazioni archeologiche di grande portata. Questi scavi hanno fornito un abbondante mobilio archeologico e permesso di comprendere meglio l'organizzazione urbana dell'agglomerato.
Le credenze religiose sono anche ben documentate sul sito, poiché questo agglomerato ha ospitato un'area sacra di una decina di templi e un santuario dedicato al culto orientale di Mitra, Questo ci ha permesso di esporre oggetti votivi e di ricostruire una fossa per le offerte nel museo.
Varie tematiche sono affrontate nelle vetrine, in particolare il commercio, i riti funebri, l'artigianato, gli ornamenti. Esponiamo numerose testimonianze della vita domestica: religione, gioielli, stoviglie, strumenti, monete. Costituisce il fulcro delle nostre collezioni, d'altronde è all'origine della creazione del museo. La sua particolarità risiede nelle sue dimensioni eccezionali e nella finezza della scena incisa che raffigura l'imperatore Commodo a cavallo mentre abbatte un re barbaro. È un oggetto che merita una visita al museo.

Le musée gallo-romain de Biesheim est exclusivement consacré au site antique d’Oedenburg, dont l’intérêt a suscité des opérations archéologiques de grande envergure. Ces fouilles ont livré un abondant mobilier archéologique et permis de mieux comprendre l’organisation urbaine de l’agglomération.
Les croyances religieuses sont également bien documentées sur le site, puisque cette agglomération a abrité une aire sacrée d’une dizaine de temples ainsi qu’un sanctuaire dédié au culte oriental de Mithra, ce qui nous a permis d’exposer des objets votifs et de reconstituer une fosse à offrandes dans le musée.
Diverses thématiques sont abordées dans les vitrines, notamment le commerce, les rites funéraires, l’artisanat, les parures. Nous exposons de nombreux témoignages de la vie domestique : religion, bijoux, la vaisselle, les outils, les monnaies. Je précise bien que tous les objets exposés ont été découverts à Biesheim lors des fouilles archéologiques.
La pièce maîtresse de la collection est sans aucun doute la magnifique intaille de Commode, il s’agit d’un bijou exceptionnel. Il constitue la pièce maîtresse de nos collections, d’ailleurs il est à l’origine de la création du musée. Sa particularité réside dans ses dimensions exceptionnelles et la finesse de la scène gravée qui représente l’empereur Commode à cheval en train de terrasser un roi barbare. C’est un objet qui mérite la visite du musée.

Las creencias religiosas también están bien documentadas en el sitio, ya que esta ciudad ha albergado un área sagrada de una docena de templos, así como un santuario dedicado al culto oriental de Mitra, lo que nos permitió exponer objetos votivos y reconstruir una fosa de ofrendas en el museo.
En las vitrinas se abordan diversos temas, como el comercio, los ritos funerarios, la artesanía y los adornos. Exponemos numerosos testimonios de la vida doméstica: religión, joyas, vajilla, herramientas, monedas. Debo aclarar que todos los objetos expuestos fueron descubiertos en Biesheim durante las excavaciones arqueológicas.
La pieza central de la colección es sin duda el magnífico intaille de Commode, se trata de una joya excepcional. Constituye la pieza central de nuestras colecciones, además, está en el origen de la creación del museo. Su particularidad radica en sus dimensiones excepcionales y la finura de la escena grabada que representa al emperador Cómodo a caballo derribando a un rey bárbaro. Es un objeto digno de una visita al museo.
