The Arsenal
Reinvented by the famous architect Ricardo Bofill in 1989, the Arsenal ensemble includes, in addition to the Grande Salle, known for its incomparable acoustic qualities, and its two other concert halls (Grande Salle, Salle de l'Esplanade and Studio du Gouverneur), an exhibition gallery, a shop, reception rooms and a space dedicated to conferences (Salon Claude Lefebvre)
Saint-Pierre-aux-Nonnains Church
A religious building dating from the end of the 4th. It is one of the oldest churches in the world, and the oldest church in France. In Roman times, the building was used as a palester and integrated into a thermal complex. In the seventh century, it became the chapel of a Benedictine abbey. The Romanesque nave was built around the year 1000, which corresponds to the Ottonian period for the Holy Roman Empire of which Metz was then a member. The former Basilica of Saint-Pierre-aux-Nonnains, a satellite building of the Arsenal, offers a completely renovated setting for 25 years.
The chapel of the Templars
The only vestige of the preceptory of the Templars (1220 AD), the former Templar Chapel is the second satellite building of the Arsenal. Open to the public during the summer period, it can, on an ad hoc basis, host original works according to the programming.
