Deneuvre is a village more than 2000 years old. This long history has left traces everywhere that we invite you to discover with your guide.

In the 1st century BC a small community of Leuques settled in Deneuvre, since the village was occupied. From these centuries of construction and destruction remains an impressive amount of remains that are just waiting to be visited.
A Celtic ditch, a Roman tower, medieval ramparts or an eighteenth century church, all these sights are open to the curious along the streets and alleys of Deneuvre.

In 1974, a farmer of Deneuvre falls on a column 1800-year-old old woman by boring a well. This fortuitous discovery is going to pull(entail) 12 years of excavations(searches) which will bring to light a hundred of Hercul's statues, mostly in a very good state of preservation. The museum builds in the centre of Deneuvre, and just a step away from Baccarat, proposes, on 400m ² and from rooms(parts, plays) of origin, a faithful return(restoration), of the most important sanctuary of sources(springs) devoted to Hercules never discovered in Gaul.
